Toph Bei-Fong – Avatar Native

toph_bei_fong_fan_art_by_merulagfm-d874dda

  • Origin Form: Earth Nation Female, Blind
    • Earthbender: Earthbending is a balanced and potent art, favoring defense until the right moment, then powerful and decisive attacks to overwhelm the opponent. Calling upon both stone and soil, Earthbenders are also capable of transforming entire battlefields, creating pillars of rock or transforming ground into quicksand. However, they cannot bend metal, due to its processed state.
    • Metalbender: a skill commonly taught to soldiers and police forces that allows earthbenders to control processed and liquid metal in a similar fashion to bending regular earth.  This ability only works on impure metal. Earthbenders cannot manipulate heavily purified metals like platinum.
    • Combat Bender: Despite being useful for more than just combat, nothing can compare to the martial applications of bending.  You’ve been trained to use your powers in combat, you know how to shape your element into lethal and non-lethal attacks, and also how to defend yourself against both benders and non-benders.  The Hand to Hand combat experience you’ve gained from this can also be applied to non-bending combat, and any existing martial arts you already know could easily be adapted for bending as well.
    • Earthbending Genius: You are a born master of your Element, using it on a level that most Benders could spend a lifetime failing to achieve. Where others toss boulders, you throw hills; where others could freeze a raindrop, you can transform a rainstorm into ice. Even the most trivial effort will allow you to learn any bending form you observe, and with casual practice you can master, then improve, on them. This genius also enhances, rather than supplants, any other Bending perks you’ve purchased; your talents are now exponentially greater, and your mastery also applies to the Specialized Bending Art which you learned, letting you master that art with little more difficulty than you’d have with the pure form.
    • Police Training:
  • Civilization Quasi-Import
    • Member of the Magi Pantheon: Magi Goddess of Defenders.
  • Disney Princess Import
    • Form ?: Green Little Dragon (Like Mu-Shu, but Green)
    • Sing a Little Song: Burst into song at any time. You’ll know the words, and won’t stumble in your diction. Any song perks or magic that you take can be combined using this ability. Doesn’t give you a beautiful voice, but if you have the capacity, it will help train one.
    • I’ll Make a Man Out of You!: Become the best personal trainer ever. You’ll be able to teach nearly any physical skill to anyone, and increase someone’s strength, agility, speed, poise, grace, and endurance to that individual’s best potential. Great for starting a dance squad or an army, or combining the two.
  • Samurai Jack Loot
    • Earth Guardian Staff: Formed from the essence of the Water Goddess’s Guardian of Earth.
  • A Song of Ice and Fire Import
    • Form ?: ‘Topher the Gopher’, a male Smallfolk of The Vale
    • Smallfolk Identity: You have local allies and a history in the realm. You have limited resources, no formal education, and no martial training. You are a member of the smallfolk in your starting area. You are well known and well liked in the area and you are seen (amongst fellow commoners) as a pillar of the community.
    • Heraldry and Words: The heraldry and words of your design. They are inextricably associated with you and give the impression and feeling you’d like to get across with them (within reason). Nobles begin with a cape and standard of the finest quality displaying their arms and motto, everyone else starts with their emblem and words crudely painted on a bedsheet.
      • Words: “This is Your Fault”
      • Emblem: Steel Lotus on Green
    • Glamour: You can change your face to resemble other people and copy their mannerisms. This is extremely convincing if you have an object of the person you are impersonating.
    • Worker: You are willing to push yourself far beyond the normal limits with physical or tedious work. You will continue to do such tasks to the best of your ability without soon tiring.
  • Scooby-Doo Import
    • Enormous Appetite: You may eat as much food as you want without ever growing uncomfortably full. Overeating will not negatively impact your weight or body fat in any way.
    • Run For Your Life: When frightened or surprised, you are able to run at a significantly increased speed. Even in normal circumstances you’re still a little faster than you used to be.
  • RWBY Import
    • Form ?: ‘Lotus’, A female Badger Faunus
    • Criminal: You’ve had a nasty past, running the streets or the alleys of some city or other, but have turned over a new leaf. That’s the story you’re sticking with.
    • Faunus: You’re a little bit beastly, aren’t you? Gain free nightvision, a cosmetic trait & quirk of some animal, and a lifetime of derision and suspicion.
    • Light Fingered: Picking pockets is as easy as sneezing, and you can also protect yourself from these attempts. Useful for planting objects without detection, too!
    • Punk & Poetry: This set of feathery war fans can fold into a pair of magnums, and can fold out and combine into a makeshift shield. While not as powerful a punch, they truly embody the ideal of ‘death of a thousand cuts’, making you so agile and light in motion, you’d weigh less than feathers. Perfect for formal evenings or detective work.
    • Silver Tongued Devil: Making crime look good and lowering sentences is the least is easy as pie. Your charm is increased for wrongdoing, which helps a bit even when you’re not. Even works against people who hate you.
    • Coffee & Cookies: Delicious! Comes with a ten year supply and recipes.
    • Aura for Everybody: A book about manipulating aura for fun and profit. Synergizing with your other powers becomes child’s play, as well as augmenting yourself physically, beyond peak human prowess. Mastering this, you may discover the secret to grafting Aura into non-living things, like robots.
    • Semblance: ???
  • Touhou Project Import
    • Form ?: a female Human Mage
    • Mage Background [Free]: Magic is your deepest passion, the love of your life, and your raison d’etre. Every grimoire memorized is just another step closer to perfecting your mastery over the arcane. Though this devotion may have lead you to become loner without a lot of friends, those you do, you hold close and dear to your heart, whom you value just as importantly as your never-ending journey to become the best magician there is.
    • Human [Free]: It’s no secret that humans are one of the weakest races in Gensokyo. They aren’t naturally attuned to perform magic and are physically unimpressive. However, with a great deal of willpower, there is little humanity cannot achieve, even during their short lifespans. There are even humans who have ascended their status as a human and transformed into Magicians or even Youkai with dedicated training, but that feat will take at least a decade to accomplish.
    • Metal Elemental’s Secret (Metal): You will have power over the Wu Xing elements – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Each ability have a lot of potential by themselves, but shine brightest when creatively used together to manipulate the world all around you. Alternatively, some magicians have opted to focus in on one element in particular while ignoring the rest to give themselves an exponential boost for that particular element when compared to one with a jack of all trades approach. This magic also allows for you to invoke and manipulate the power of the sun and the moon, further empowering your abilities.
    • Metal Elemental’s Secret (Earth): You will have power over the Wu Xing elements – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
    • Tai Chi Master: {Touhou} You can see the auras, or Qi, hidden within every being, giving you a myriad of useful information about them, that you might not have known otherwise. Additionally, you become much more proficient in controlling your own Qi, as well as other inner energies.
  • Fairy Tail Import
    • Title: ‘Lotus Hat’, a female human
    • Palm Magic: The user of this B-Class Magic gains the ability to channel magic power into the palms of their hands, allowing for potent palm strikes capable of smashing boulders, among other effects.
    • Green Magic: This non-combat C-Class Magic allows the user to greatly accelerate the growth of plants, especially small ground-cover types, but also trees) and halt desertification.
  • Redwall Import
    • Form 2a: ‘Nike’, a female Badger-sized Badger Scoundrel
    • Form 2b: ‘Nike’, a female Man-Sized Badger Scoundrel
    • Badger: You stand head-and-shoulders above most other beasts, with powerful muscles, and sharp fangs and claws. If you’re not a Badger Lord or Lady yourself, you’re probably at least distantly related to one.
    • Scoundrel: Villains have more fun, and you’re determined to have the most fun of all. You could be a pirate, a mercenary, a brutal savage, or a fearsome warlord, but one constant is that you are bad news.
    • Bloodwrath: this condition is both a blessing and a curse. When a loved one is threatened or hurt, or when confronted with a hated foe, you risk the Bloodwrath overtaking you. This greatly increases your strength, speed, and ferocity, and allows you to ignore anything short of an immediately fatal wound until it passes, but also makes it impossible for you to focus on anything other than CRUSHING, KILLING, and DESTROYING. Great focus and inner strength will serve you well here, allowing you to control precisely when and how and what you crush and kill and destroy.
    • Dirty Fighting: You’ve never much been one for playing fair. You’ve got at least a little bit of practice with every nasty trick in the book, and might even have invented a couple of your own. This can help you hold your own while outnumbered, or against fighters bigger, stronger, and better trained than yourself, so long as you don’t mind beating them dishonorably.
    • Basic Weapons: They aren’t the sharpest or the shiniest, but they can certainly get the job done. One or two weapons of your choice, from fairly standard swords and bows to a more exotic frog-sticker or an authentic gullwhacker.
    • Haversack: A large, rigid-framed backpack with several pouches and compartments (all substantially bigger on the inside for extra excellence). They each came with a bedroll and mess kit, and could, in a pinch, be used as a surprisingly effective bludgeoning weapon.
  • Bleach Upgrade
    • Maskador Transformation: {Bleach} Toph is a Visored Shinigami and a Quincy… even though she’s a terrible archer.  Her technique usually involves punching people with her fist and claiming it was an arrow.  She also is the only Shinigami I know of who has psitanium knuckles as her Zanpakuto. Her mask is a blank, emotionless, eyeless face.
  • Demon’s Souls Import
    • Simple Belief: There is something you believe in, whether it is an ideal or a deity. Once your goal is set, it becomes hard for others to sway you from your cause. As a result, your willpower and determination have improved. You also understand how to use the miracle ‘Heal’.
    • Faith’s Reward: When one has faith, miracles can happen. Your dedication and faith have allowed you to comprehend the blessings of God and, as such, improved their potency. Due to your dedication, your willpower has been improved and miracles cost less to use.
  • Gargoyles Import
    • Human: The most populous race, humans are exactly as you remember them from your earth. Very capable with science and technology, humans do their best to run the world, and most everyone else is content to let them, for the time being. When confronted with things they don’t understand, they tend to panic.
    • Super Snooper Background: You’re a cop, private investigator, or just highly inquisitive. Either way you have just tracked down your local gargoyle clan, and aren’t they surprised to see you. Better get to explaining yourself.
    • Illuminated: You were on to something big, and then they approached you. They’re impressed by your skills and tenacity. The Illuminati are offering you a chance to join, if you agree to keep what you find out to yourself. You took them up on the offer and are now ranked 36 in the Illuminati. Even in later jumps, any group calling itself the Illuminati will recognize you as a member. Don’t question it.
    • Undercover: You’ve become an expert at the art of going undercover. A change of clothes and a dye-job and suddenly you can walk amongst the worst criminals without any problem. Your disguises are all simple, but majorly effective at making you unrecognizable as a snoop.
    • Suspicions: You know when someone is lying to you or being manipulative. Even if it’s your most trusted friend or partner, you’ll recognize the tell-tale signs that someone isn’t being forthright with you. Works even if that creature isn’t human or sentient.
    • Quick Thinking: Things have a tendency to go wrong, so you’ve learned to think on your feet. Whenever a sudden event puts your goals or something you care about in danger, a solution just comes to you. It may not be optimal, but it will work in the short term to keep events spinning.
    • Lucky Badge: Whether it’s a police badge, an old pocketwatch, or a book, it may as well be a guardian angel when you put it in your jacket pocket. Small objects like bullets, darts, or even throwing knives will usually hit this instead of you. Not 100% effective, but it happens often enough that you’ll thank your stars and garters you remembered to carry your lucky wad of receipts that day.
    • Handgun: A 9mm Glock 19. Standard for New York Police Department.
    • Unstoppable Guardian: When something you care about is threatened, nothing can stand in your way. You gain a major boost in willpower when your eyes start to glow. You can easily intimidate most regular human or animal opponents.
  • Divinity Dragon Commander Princess Import
    • Form ?: Lizard Duchess, Ahab’s Duchess
      • Lizard: Cold, practical and (mostly) forward-thinking, the Lizards are a generally liberal and reasonable people.
  • Tenchi Muyo Quasi-Import
    • Form ?: ‘Margaret-Elisabeth du Treeface aka Tooooooooph’, a Tree Spriggan
  • Firefly Import
    • Browncoat: Aw, hell. Things just aren’t going your way since you lost the War. At least you’ve got your skills with a gun to fall back on, even if the Alliance won’t let you work. Well, there’s a ship going the right direction. Might as well see if you’ve got enough coin.
    • Shoot’em Politely: You’re a good shot with pretty much any small arm. You know how to operate and maintain both ballistic and energy weaponry, and can generally keep your head under fire. Of course, you may not have much of a head for tactics; after all, you lost the War.
    • Brown Coat: You have a genuine Independence War Browncoat, issued by the militia of one of the Rim planets. It may be Shadow suede, Deerskin, or some exotic leather, but some characteristics are the same; it’s comfortable, it’s tough, it keeps you safe in any weather, and it marks you out as a malcontent to any Alliance Feds who might want to hassle a “rebel.” Of course, some on the other side (not sure it’s the wrong one) might count that as a positive. Also comes with free sheet music for “Rally Round the Banner, the Banner Yellow, Black, and Green.” (Singing ability not included).
    • Machines, They Just Speak to Me: You might have no formal schooling, but can fine-tune and repair engines with nothing but shoe polish. You might not know what the parts are SUPPOSED to do, but you know how to make them work the way you want. You could diagnose a faulty part in the power core  just by listening to the AC cycle, and can fix pretty much anything with naught but a wrench and some duct tape. It may not be pretty, and it may not last long, but it’ll work.
    • Can Stop the Signal: You are a master hacker, a ghost in the Cortex. You can, given the appropriate equipment, edit security logs while on the way to the server, preventing people from knowing you were ever there, or implicate Members of Parliament in scandals involving underage hookers. Even with the cheap Cortex-access pads you can get on a street corner, rewriting transponder codes and forging landing permits are child’s play. The world of data is your world to rule.
    • Leaf on the Wind: Well, there’s one place you feel at home. In the cockpit or bridge of a ship, or behind the wheel of a hovercraft, you just fit. You have an intuitive understanding of orbital mechanics and have the reflexes to make them useful. You’re an excellent pilot when using your gut feeling and fast hands, though you may not quite be up to snuff with all the math. While you’re quite skilled, there are some limits you just can’t break; there are always hardware differences you can’t overcome, unless you happen to know a skilled mechanic…
